When do the pterodactyls start appearing?

The flying dinosaurs typically start showing up on the screen once you reach between 400 and 500 points. From this point on, you must actively use the duck mechanic to survive.

Is there a day and night cycle in the game?

Yes! Once you cross the 700-point mark, the game suddenly shifts into night mode, darkening the background and inverting the graphics. As you continue to survive, the game will periodically and excitingly switch back and forth between day and night.
